At a glance
- Everything you record stays on your device. Daymio has no servers and no cloud.
- No account is required. No email address, name, or phone number is ever requested.
- No trackers. No analytics, no advertising, and nothing you record is ever shared. Buying Premium involves only anonymous purchase data (see section 6).
- You can delete everything at any time from Settings, or by uninstalling the app. We can also delete the anonymous purchase record on request.
1. Who we are
Daymio is a period tracking app built around a simple principle: your health data belongs to you, and only to you. The app is developed and published by:

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the developer named above is the data controller. That said, as this policy explains, Daymio is designed so that we never receive or process your personal data in the first place. The only exception is the anonymous purchase data described in section 6, which is processed by our purchase service provider.
2. The data you record
When you use Daymio, you may record:
- Period days — the dates you mark in the calendar,
- Notes — free-text notes you attach to a day,
- Symptoms and flow level — the options you select when logging a day,
- App preferences — such as your theme and language settings.
All of this information is stored exclusively in a local database on your device. It is never uploaded, synchronized, or transmitted anywhere. There is no Daymio server, no cloud backup operated by us, and no way for us — or anyone else — to access what you record.
No predictions, no medical advice. Daymio deliberately does not forecast your next period, ovulation, or fertile days, and it provides no medical or contraceptive guidance. All statistics describe what you have recorded in the past — never the future. Daymio is not a medical device and must not be relied upon for contraception or family planning; for such questions, please consult a healthcare professional.
3. What we don't collect
Daymio does not:
- require or offer user accounts — no email address, name, or phone number is ever requested,
- use analytics or crash-reporting services,
- show advertising or embed advertising SDKs,
- use cookies or similar tracking technologies,
- collect your location, contacts, photos, or other personal data stored on your device,
- sell any data, or share it with third parties — except the anonymous purchase data our purchase service provider needs to verify Premium (see section 6).
4. Storage & security
Your entries are kept in a private database inside the app's own storage area (its sandbox), protected by your operating system's security model. Other apps cannot read Daymio's data, and the data is covered by your device's encryption whenever your device is locked with a passcode, fingerprint, or face unlock.
Because the data lives only on your device, we strongly recommend protecting your device with a passcode and keeping your operating system up to date.
Not part of device backups. Your data is stored only on your device and is not included in operating-system backups (Google/iCloud). To move your data to a new device, use the CSV export in Settings.
Please note: since we hold no copy of your data — and since it is not part of any operating-system backup — we cannot restore it for you. If you delete the app or lose your device, your data is gone unless you exported it yourself.
5. Exporting your data
Daymio lets you export your data as a CSV file. Exports happen only when you actively choose to export, and the file is handed to your device's share sheet — you decide where it goes (a file, an email, a cloud drive, etc.). Anything you do with an exported file is outside the app and under your control. We never receive a copy.
6. Purchases
Daymio offers optional premium features via in-app purchase. Payments are processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies. We never see your payment details.
To recognize whether premium is unlocked, the app validates purchases using RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. This involves an anonymous, randomly generated identifier and purchase receipt data from the store (details below) — never your identity or anything you record in the app. You can read more in RevenueCat's privacy policy.
When RevenueCat is contacted. RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) is our purchase service provider and processes this data on our behalf (as a data processor). The app connects to RevenueCat each time it starts, to check whether Premium is unlocked, and when you open the Premium screen or restore a purchase.
What RevenueCat receives. When the app contacts RevenueCat, RevenueCat receives:
- an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID — no name, no email address, no account,
- purchase and transaction information from the App Store or Google Play (your purchase history for Daymio),
- your device model, operating-system version, and app version,
- your IP address, which is part of any network connection.
RevenueCat never receives your cycle data, notes, symptoms, or any other health data — these stay on your device. No advertising identifiers are used, and there is no tracking or analytics SDK.
Purpose and legal basis. This processing is necessary to perform the purchase contract and to provide the premium features you bought (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
International transfer. RevenueCat stores this data in data centers located in the United States. Transfers from the EU/EEA are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses that RevenueCat provides in its Data Processing Addendum.
Deletion. You can ask us to delete the anonymous customer record held by RevenueCat by writing to the email address in the Contact section below.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws, you have rights to access, correct, export, and erase your personal data. Because Daymio stores everything on your device, you can exercise all of these rights directly, at any time, without asking us:
- Access & correction — open the app; everything you recorded is visible and editable.
- Portability — use the CSV export in Settings.
- Erasure — use "Delete all data" in Settings, or uninstall the app.
If you believe your rights have been infringed, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children's privacy
Daymio is not specifically directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children — because the app collects no personal information beyond the anonymous purchase data described in section 6, which never includes your name, contact details or anything you record in the app. There are no accounts, no social features, and no advertising.
Age ratings for downloading Daymio are set by the Apple App Store and Google Play and are shown on the store listing. Parents or guardians with questions are welcome to contact us at the address below.
9. This website
This privacy policy is hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit this page, GitHub may record technical information such as your IP address in its server logs, as described in GitHub's privacy statement. The website itself sets no cookies and contains no analytics or trackers.
10. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Daymio handles data — for example, by adding an optional cloud backup — we will update this policy, adjust the effective date at the top, and clearly inform you inside the app before any new processing begins. The current version of this policy is always available at this address and from within the app.
